Valerie O'Regan

1414

Valerie is a multidisciplinary artist based in Innellan. Her studio practice is diverse and deeply rooted in materiality. With a background in Fine Art sculpture, she works primarily with stone, ceramic, and paper, exploring the inherent qualities of each medium.

Originally from Cork, Valerie moved to Glasgow in 2004 to take up a placement as a visual art tutor with Project Ability, where she continues to work as an artist practitioner.

Her practice is profoundly inspired by the landscape, creating site-responsive imagery that captures the essence of ‘place’ at a specific moment in time. She is particularly interested in the physical traces of past lives and the dynamic interplay between history and the present, as well as the ways in which the natural world adapts within these shifting narratives.

In addition to sculpture, Valerie is an experimental printmaker, pushing the boundaries of traditional print processes. She is committed to sustainability in her practice, working with natural pigments derived from rocks and plants to create environmentally conscious prints that reflect her deep connection to the land.

A professional member of the Society of Scottish Artists, Valerie exhibits and sells her work locally, nationally, and internationally.
